How learning works

You learn in class with a PRTF educator and continue online in the AWS Academy learning platform. Here's what a course looks like from start to finish.

Questions students ask

Do I need a technical background?

No, not to start. AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is written for students without an IT background. Associate courses such as Cloud Architecting work best after Cloud Foundations. The Data Center Technician course expects a general understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Is the course completion badge the same as AWS Certification?

No. The badge shows you completed an AWS Academy course. AWS Certification is a separate exam run by AWS. The courses help you prepare for it, and extra practice is recommended before you sit the exam.

What exam benefit do I get?

PGDM students can take their AWS Certification exam free of cost. Students in the Professional Certification in Cloud Computing and Applied AI receive a 50% discount voucher on the exam. Both groups receive the course completion badge and certificate.

Who teaches the courses?

PRTF's AWS Academy approved educators, who will be AWS Certified. The course content is developed and maintained by AWS.

How do I get my badge?

Score 70% or more on the required knowledge checks or course assessment. Then choose "Claim your badge" in the course. Badges are issued through Credly when the course reaches its end date, and you'll get an email to accept it.

Which track should I choose?

Choose the Cloud track if you're drawn to designing, building, securing or running systems. Choose the AI track if you're interested in generative AI, machine learning or working with data. Both start with Cloud Foundations, so you can decide after your first course.
